We are selling all the time and smartest way to build this skill is by learning from your mistakes.
However, geniuses would be learning from other people's mistakes.

Don't sell to your customers what they need. Sell them what they want.
It took me a while to realize this truth and after learning it I was able to sell better.
For an example, if you are selling gym membership, don't sell them discipline and consistency. Sell them weight loss because that's what they want.
Sell them what they want and give them what they need.
That's it.
